I wander while I hate you, reality.

Don't worry, I don't hate all reality. Just reality TV. It really sucks. My dad loves it, but I hate it. I know that they are all acting anyway, so why watch horribly written, bad quality shows about overweight rednecks who hunt for crocs? I just don't see the point.

I have some pretty great friends. Everyone seems to have their own niche, but I like to consider myself more of a nomad. It all started in 7th grade. (Memory fade)
I was a shrimp of a sevy (sevey? sivey?). I had gone to a school full of jerks (no offense) and had no real allegiances at my new school. I had a few different friends, but no one I was too comfortable with. My homeroom class was health*. There was a girl in my class by the name of Katie Clark. She was pretty, so I went for a shot. We became good friends. Instead of creating a niche, we wandered around.

As it turns out Katie had a crush on me (I am completely clueless when it comes to people liking others). Due to my cluelessness, she stopped hanging out with me (so she didn't really like me that much, I guess). I was in a predicament. It was halfway through the school year, and my only near niche was shot. So what does one do in such a predicament? (Not find a niche) You just wander around alone

So that is what I did. From 7.5th grade to 9th, I walked around, by myself, and met people. I feel like I was like Gandalf in Lord of the Rings. The only difference, however, is that people seem to like Gandalf WAY more than me. Take for example, Payton Doyle. What a jerk. He deserves a good punch to the everywhere. But I digress.

Then I went to the high school. I thought, 'This year should be different.' I wanted the modest, one place at lunch type of guy. After about two weeks, I realized it didn't work. I could not stay in one place. Everyone had their own place and I never got into one. There was never a seat for Wyatt. I was a forced nomad.

*I believe this is where Trevor Ward and I became such good friends.

I wander everywhere now. I can't just stay put.

And that is why I am a nomad.

So surprise, my team made it onto the Pleasant Grove High School Scripture Mastery March Madness Championship Final (or PGHSSMMMCF)! It is so nerve racking. We play tomorrow, and I am the worst player on my team. Wish me luck.

Grades and Kellee

Well, 3rd term just ended on Friday. I don't want to sound cocky, but I wasn't worried at all. I mean, I was kind of anxious, but really, third term has been the easiest term so far. I ended with all "A"'s except a B+ in math and an A- is Biotech. I thought that was a great final grade, mostly because I didn't have to do anything, really.

So Tuesday, I found out that my science teacher, Mr. Van Dijk, forgot to enter twenty points into my grade, and that bumped my grade up to an "A." Let's just say I was pretty happy.

Today, I voted for next year's Student Council. I then checked my grades. My math teacher bumped my grade from a "B+" to an "A-." I am 99.9̅% sure I got did more to my grades during 4th term than I did all of 3rd.

Oh and Kellee Walker, too.

He real. He is a champion. He is Nate Champion Church

The kid on the right is among my heroes. The other kid is okay.
So Nate Church is a stud. He is my good friend, and he is going to be the president. Well, the president of PGHS student body, but still, it's pretty cool. I think it is kind of funny that we are such good friends even though we have only know each other a few months. He is sooooo sick.

So there is something that really bugs me. That is when T.V. or movies are factually incorrect. I especially hate it when it is scientifically incorrect. One such example is the T.V. show "V." I think that show is really great, but it is soooooooooooo wrong.

Now you maybe thinking, of course it's wrong, it is a show about aliens. But there is a difference between believable and realistic. In V, the aliens take DNA from certain boys to mate with them and yadda yadda yadda. But first off, DNA can't even be taken in this way. The DNA is stripped on one side, which is not really possible. I would go into even more detail, but that is boring.

So you know who is really cool? That Sam Norton kid. He is another one of my heroes.

Well, be excellent to each other, and party on dudes.

My Spare Time Gets Nabbed

Me and my family are in the process of redoing our front room. It is really exciting, but it is also a ton of work. From 9:30 AM until 8:30  PM, I was working on it. I am sore, tired, and finally clean.

I find that if I do not have plans for Saturday, and sometimes when I do, my day gets stolen by my dad's projects. Not that I don't enjoy it, but it does tire me. Anyway, want to see some (sorry, I just got interrupted by my dad) pictures? Here you go.

Entry Hall
Dining Room (See if you can spot the pure awesomeness)

Family Room
We also cut our entertainment center down a few feet.

The science fair. Well, it is kind of a disappointment. Not because I didn't do well (third in my category, Microbiology), but because I thought that chances of going onto ISEF (international) were pretty good. As it turns out, however, only five people went to ISEF. When I found this out, I knew I wasn't going on, which was a bummer. But I won $25.00, got a medal and an award, and a Chinese judge was very impressed by my work. I cannot walk away from this experience saying I suck at science. I was really tempted to write on here the other day, saying that I would never go to the science fair again, because I sucked at science, but now I know that the only thing quitting does is cut me short of my true potential. I will never do that to myself, my future wife, and my future children.

Another Post About the Science Fair

So today was the state science fair. I am pretty nervous about the results. I feel pretty confident, but I don't want to get my hopes up. I am pretty sure I did very well with all four of my judges. One of them said that if I do more tests, I could submit my results in paper format to a scientific journal. That in and of itself is really cool, but I want to go to the international science fair. I think it would be awesome, plus they hand scholarships out like candy there.

ISEF is in Los Angeles this year, so not too far away, but it is still exciting. I won't be able to know if I made it until seven. Needless to say I am very stressed, which makes me not confident in my blog writing, so this will be a very small entry. See how small it is?

Jameson Ricks: Technology is his first , middle and last name.

Jameson, what a guy. He is a friend of my brother, Brock, and I don't know exactly when we met. He and I have known each other for very long, and he is a total stud.
He took this picture of his feet the day we went up to MMS. For some
reason, he thought my iPhone would be a good camera to use.
He and I shouldn't be friends. That sounds odd, but you will understand in a second. We both have older brothers: I have Kendall and he has Spencer. These two brothers were and still are great friends, due to them being in the same grade. The next boy in each family is Brock (Duclos) and Jameson (Ricks). They are in the same grade. Next comes me (Duclos) and Matt (Ricks). We too, are in the same grade. So you see, even though we are, we shouldn't be as good of friends as we are. If anything, he should be my brother's jerk friend, or my friend's jerk brother, but he isn't because, like I said, he is a stud.

Jameson is a crack whiz kid when it comes to techmology. He knows it is good and not whack. He has build computers, can jailbreak any iOS device, and he works at a computer disposal company. He can speak binary and HTML fluently. He is a stud.

Jameson is awesome. He is what a BYU fan should be: nice to me and my family, even though we are Utes. He goes to BYU and Brock goes to U of U, but they still hang out and go to Taco Tuesday together as much as possible. Here are a few things that I think of when I think of Jameson:
I can't be completely sure, because I never asked him, but I think Jameson is an Apple fanboy, liken to myself.

Jameson and I once got to touch a Corvette ZR1. Let's just say that memory is forever imprinted in my mind.

Jameson has a great taste in music, namely The Shins.

You will never see this picture on my blog again, but I put it here  because this is a big part of Jameson's life right now.

Jameson's dad's business.

Jameson probably knows exactly which software this is running, not to mention which iPhone it is.

I just wanted to show you this.

Jameson is into Arcade Fire. Awesome.

I don't know why, but he makes me think of the Stig.

We went to Miller Motorsports Park for Brock's 17 birthday.  Jameson came and it was probably one of the best days of my life.

This is Wendy Peffercorn. I put this for three reasons: First, she is really pretty. Second, Jameson is a lifeguard, like her. Third, Jameson competed in Mr. Viking and for his skit, we did the scene from The Sandlot. It was pretty sick.
Jameson is a great kid. He has been with Brock through Mandy and Haydn, and is still with him today. He is a great person and an even better friend.

Today

Today is Friday Eve. The pre-weekend night. I never feel bad staying up late Thursday night because I just make up for it on Friday. Pretty tricky, eh?

So there is a song I really like in a film called Young Einstein. It is Rock n' Roll Music by Chuck Berry performed by an Aussie band called Mental As Anything. I cannot find it anywhere, so I am really ticked. It is a great version, one I like more than Mr. Berry's.

Check this out:

I found it pretty interesting, personally. Well I want food, so adios.

New Post

Today is the Monday of my week. I had a sub in one of my favorite classes, so we did nothing, I missed most of seminary to get my mouth worked on, and I had a test in Health (and yes, the worst test you have in Health). Pretty crappy, eh? But it's a four day week, so I will win in the long run.

So my friend had surgery on her jaw, or something like that (Facebook chat is not the best mode of communication). I haven't gotten a chance to ask her how it went, but I was pretty worried. She is a really great person and she wants to major in musical theatre, which she will depend on her voice to do. I hope she is alright.

Pancakes are great aren't they? I am really tired.

Dwight Schrute
Apparently, I am a lot like that guy. I am known as Dwyatt to some.

Three days to party and loving it.

This is a three day weekend. The reason it is so is because the school planned a snow day. It is similar to someone planning a sick day a week in advance. But I am not complaining.

So if you are awesome you may have noticed some of the quotes from the original TV show, Get Smart on my blog. I love this show. It is cheesy, has very few extras, and is completely hilarious. I hope to grow up to be Agent 86 of CONTROL someday. The recent movie of Get Smart isn't as good. Okay, but not as good.

I love Sundays. There are the best. Except waking up, but I always hate that. I have mission prep, which will be awesome. My mission prep teacher was once my bishop and my home teacher and he is one of my heroes. Bishop Andrew Busby, for that is his name, is a very inspired man.

I have very good friends. I really think that one of the main reasons I have such a strong testimony of the church is because of my friends, brothers and parents. I will always appreciate their influences on my life. My friend, Skyler Drage, is another of my heroes. His story, at least from my point of view, is amazing, and I would like to share it with you. Here it goes:

Skyler Drage moved into my ward when we were both in Cub Scouts. I remember the first time he came to scouts with my friend, Henson Walker. I remember looking at him, his face, and thinking how much of a punk he must be. I must admit, I was hast to judge, but I was not incorrect. He was annoying, obnoxious, and worst of all, he didn't always go to church. Even though he got baptized, I did not like Skyler Drage.

Now know at this time that he moved into our ward when his mother married an inactive member. Their marriage was, and still is, a rocky one, and after about a year and a half, Skyler moved away. I remember being so happy he was gone. I thought how nice it would be to go to eleven year old scouts and not have to see him. As I type this, know that I really want to go back in time and slap myself at this point.

Skyler moved back about the time we were twelve. He went to church more often. He always went with Henson, and rarely did I ever speak kindly of him. He started going to school together. He and I saw more of each other. As he went to church, he grew in the spirit. As he grew, we grew closer. After a while, I started to think he was alright. I actually considered hanging out with him.

I remember actually thinking of hanging out with him. About this time, he started to get interested in receiving the priesthood. I remember the specific time he asked Brother Hawk, our scout leader, if he could find out what he needed to do to receive the priesthood. We were driving home and he was in back, behind Brother Hawk. I was in shotgun, and I think Henson was there. I was proud of him.

He was passing the sacrament. He was doing fast offerings. He was my friend. The year we turned 13, March to be more precise, we started hanging out. We played Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was starting to think of him as a true friend.

He grew in the spirit, but this time, we all did it; we did it as a quorum. Skyler started out behind but passed up most of us. We were all together. Skyler now almost always came to church, when he wasn't in Magna with his dad, that is. When he came, he came with Henson's family. His family didn't support him, but the Walkers did. Skyler, Taft, Henson, Chris, Kooks (Jake), Trevor, myself, Chaz, Aaron, Cooper, Seth, and David. We were liken to the Army of Helaman. With our growth spurts spiritually, we became more than friends. We were brothers. I can't imagine any single one of those guys I don't trust with my life.

We became teachers, and we had BW and BS heading us up, so why worry? Skyler and I became best of friends. He became the quorum president. Then something happened: Henson ate the steak. Not this may not seem like anything big, unless you know that Skyler's mom's husband owned that steak, and that steak was the tipping point to throw the marriage off track. So Skyler moved.

He didn't move too far, just far enough away to not be in our ward. I wasn't too surprised when he still went to church, even though he went to a different ward. He didn't have the support of our quorum nor that of the Walker family, but he went to church anyway. He had grown from a punk kid who I did not like, to an amazing man with whom I hope I will always have contact with. He had grown into a person I hope to be. He has grown to be a follower of Christ. He is not perfect, but he is still pretty great. He is one of my greatest friends and someone I am not worried about spiritually.

Left to right: Chaz, Chris, Taft, Jacob (above), Skyler (below), Jake (above), Wyatt (me)(below), Henson (above), Trevor (below).

So I hope you like his story. I may be off a little with details, but overall it is true. I hope this doesn't make him all embarrassed.

You take me there, and I will buy you popcorn at Ace Allred's

I went to Ace Allred's today with my dad. We are repainting our front room, and so we were looking at color options. A woman was there with her 1st grade daughter (my niece, Noel, is in Kindergarten.) Since both our parents were being boring, we compared favorite paint colors. I shared with her a piece of my popcorn. She reminded me of my niece, Noel. Well, let's just say the similarity made me sad. I miss my two oldest nieces. They live in Nashville. Also, Rallie said she had an aunt who went to PGHS named Megan, retying her similarity to my niece. Ralley or Rally or Rallie, however she spelled her name, introduced me to her little sister, who was just older than the other Nashvillain, Ellie. They chased me around and scared me.
These are my nieces. The cute ones, not the bear.

Rallie (I think that is how she spells it) then got some popcorn with her sister. She made a point of putting a piece into my bag to replace the one I shared. I really miss my nieces, and these two girls were almost a gateway to playing with them. So you can understand my sadness when they left. I tried to say goodbye, but I didn't want to seem like a creep. We left the store and as we walked out to the car, Rallie yelled out her car window, "Goodbye!!" Needless to say, I really need to see my nieces.  They will be coming April 6th. Not soon enough.

New Undershirt

I got a different style of undershirts. Wife-beater. It is different. Also, I finished my English project, so that is nice. There is a kid in my Health class that hates me, so that is no good. iPad 2 is pretty crazy, right? I really don't have anything else to say. Have a good weekend? I still hate the lack of tabbing.

My Life

It bugs me that I no longer have the ability to "tab" to indent paragraphs on this. It also bugs me that The Cape got cancelled. It really crunched my chips today. Tomorrow I got to the dentist, which will be great. People say it's great that I have so many people that know me, but in truth, it really sucks when someone knows you and you have no clue you knew them. Like today in my film class. There is a pretty girl in my class with whom I have never conversed. She suddenly addressed me by name and asked me about my science fair project. Her name, I later found out, is Chelsea (thanks Melanie). In fact, I talked to her just last Thursday. My memory is slipping faster than that thing that slips that I was thinking about.

To cheer myself up from the lack of a tab option and my third favorite current show being cancelled, here is a bunch of stuff I find amusing:

Science Fair: My Only Talent

I found that I have an excellent talent in explaining science and science-related things. I am so good, I am going onto the state level of the science fair. I am really proud because this is the farthest I have ever gotten in anything before. My project was "Testing Which Salt Solution Works Best a Transformation Reaction." I won't go into any detail because if I do I will go into way too much detail because that's the type of nerd I am. Here are pictures of my beautiful experiment:

When it comes down to it, I am a complete nerd.
